What to know before visiting
Unmarked graves
In line with Saudi practice the graves are simple and unmarked - there are no mausoleums or signs. Visitors give general salam to the people of the graveyard rather than seeking a specific grave.
Etiquette
Visit quietly, make dua facing away from the graves, and follow the posted entry hours (typically after Fajr and after Asr). Photography of mourners is discouraged.
Getting there
It is a 20-minute walk up Masjid al-Haram Road, or two minutes by taxi. Most Makkah ziyarat coach tours pass it; fewer stop, so check your itinerary if it matters to you.
