Makkah and Madinah are the two cities of any Umrah itinerary, with Jeddah as the arrival point. Ziyarat tours in Makkah cover Arafat, Mina, Muzdalifah and Jabal al-Nour; in Madinah they cover Masjid Quba, Mount Uhud and Masjid al-Qiblatayn.
How do you travel between Makkah and Madinah?
The Haramain high-speed rail covers the 450 km in 2 hours 10 minutes for SAR 150 to 250. A private car takes about 4.5 hours, and VIP coaches 5.5 hours. Both stations sit roughly 12 km outside the city centres.
Are Arafat and Mina part of Umrah?
No. Arafat, Muzdalifah and Mina are Hajj sites and play no part in the Umrah rites, which are completed entirely within Masjid al-Haram. They are included on most ziyarat tours because they are close and historically significant.
