Ziyarat places in Makkah

Eight historic sites around Makkah: what each one is, how far it is, and which belong on your half-day tour.

A standard Makkah ziyarat tour is a 3–4 hour coach circuit covering Arafat, Muzdalifah, Mina, Jabal al-Nour and Jabal Thawr from the road, for SAR 50–100 per seat - or included free in most Umrah packages. None of these sites is part of the Umrah rites.

How the tours work

Hotels and operators run the circuit daily, usually after Fajr (6–9am) or after Asr. The coach stops properly at Arafat and the base of Jabal al-Nour; Mina and Muzdalifah are narrated drive-throughs since there is little to walk to outside Hajj season. Book through your package operator - it is almost always included - or at any hotel desk.

What ziyarat is and is not

These visits are historical, not ritual. Umrah itself - ihram, tawaf, sa’i, halq - happens entirely at Masjid al-Haram. Treat ziyarat as context for the places you have read about all your life, scheduled around prayers, not instead of them.
